Permission slip to film in the school ground.
This permission letter was given to the school premises manager asking him for permission to shoot our film in school.

Permission slips for the student’s parent to sign.

Reserach on Camera Movement

This video is really useful as it told me the benefits of using certain camera movement in order to enhance our film. I did a little research on camera movement before shooting our film, so that I can be more aware of how I can make our film better and interesting. The video also shows examples of camera movement from Hollywood films. This will help me, while shooting our film.

Preparation For Filming

Next week, our group and I will be shooting our film. However before we can start we had to make sure that we have everything ready before hand. To prepare ourselves for shooting next, our group had to:

  1. Make a shooting schedule
  2. Make sure we booked our location
  3. Make sure that the actor know the time and place of the shooting
  4. Make a check list of the main props that will be needed

In our group, we had to write up a permission slip asking Mr Harding the school premises manager to allow us to shoot our film on site. We also created permission slip for the students acting in our film to take home and get it signed by their parents.

Risk Assesment

Health and Safety Regulation

The Health and Safety Commission is responsible for health and safety regulation in Great Britain. While filming, you must insure that everyone on set are not exposed to risks that may have an effect on their health and safety. Before filming begins the production team must discuss the health and safety regulation and take steps to avoid and reduce the risks which are identified. If they are not followed though then accident may occur. For example, recently a harry potter stunt double suffered horrible back injury due to poor heath and safety regulation.
Some film such as horror films, action film or films that involve animals may involve more risks than others. Below are some of the thing you should be aware of whilst filming.

  • A person qualified in first aid should always be present during filming. People onset should also be aware of him/her.
  • Check before hand of any potential problems or risks that may endanger your crew or anyone else e.g. the public.
  • Think about locations where you are filming. Make sure there aren’t any dangers in filming there.
  • If you are filming at night, be aware of the environments and think about your safety and your crew members.
  • Make sure any lose wire from the equipment are out of the way. This insures that people will not trip over them.
  • Do not film any criminal activities.

Animatic - A One Man War

This video was created using i movie. It tells us what will happen in our film step by step. We first had to create a storyboard. As a group, each member did one scene for the storyboard. Once this was completed we than took pictures of the storyboard and uploaded it on to i movie.
