filming attempts

Our group scheduled two shooting which fail to take place due to the poor weather condition. We wanted to finish of filming Scene 4, however due to the snow some of the student came in late as the streets were very icy. This meant we could not film scene 4. We overcame this problem by re scheduling the shoot.

Our group also scheduled a time to meet up to finish shooting scene 4. However, I was the only one who turned up to the shoot. Due to this I had to film some scene by myself.

Second Day Of Filming

In our group we decided that were going to film scene four next. We chose a year 7 form class to be in this scene which meant that we had to shoot early in the morning during their form time. Two members from our group did not attend, which meant that it was up to me and Salma to film this scene. Some of the problem we faced was passing by student kept on walking in front of the camera while we were filming in the corridor which meant that we had to film the same shot many time. Overall I thought that the shoot was successful as we were able to film most of scene four. I found filming scene four very fun as the students were very enthusiastic in taking parts in film. We had to schedule another time with the class and our lead actor as we ran out of time and was not able to finish filming the scene.

Chatting With The Students

For scene four, our group needs a classroom full of students. I was to get hold of a year 7 class for this particular scene. Before we could film the students, we had to inform them about the scene that they would be in. This meant that some of our group members had to go and visit them beforehand and talk to them about the scene they will be in. During this time we collected the permission slip from these students and wrote the names down of students who are willing to throw a paper ball at the teacher (lead Actor).

First Day Of Filming

In our group, we decided to film the second half of scene one and the gym scene from scene two. This meant that we had to go to our actor beforehand and ask him to bring his gym clothe. After school, our group and our main actor met up in the school fitness suite. We agreed to shoot the gym scene first as it will be easier and more convenient for us. We decided to use the fitness suite as it the perfect location to shoot our gym scene. This is because it contained excising machines and equipments for us to use. We shot each takes in varies angles as it allowed us to have more option to chose from when we get into editing our clips.

After we finished filming in the fitness suites we decided to film some boxing scenes. We were able to get hold of boxing gloves and a punch bag for this particular scene. Our group decided that we enough time to film the bathroom scene. We found a sink with a mirror for this scene in one of the changing room. Again we shot from different angle.

Overall, the shoot was successful as we managed to do a lot. Everyone in our group had the chance of using the camera and putting the views across to make the scene better. However some problem arose when we realised that one of our group member khadijah re-winded the tapes to see some of the clips we recorded. Due to this we accidentally we recorded over some of the takes filmed in the gym.

Filming Schudule

To avoid any confusion, our group decided to create a filming schedule. The schedule allowed us to be well organised and made sure that our group members and our lead actor knows where and when the shoot is taking place. The schedule included what scene will be shooting, the props needed, where and when the shoot takes place.

Permission Slip Returned By Students

To avoid any ethical and legal issues we issued permission slip to the students. These parent permission slip allowed us to film these students as they were all under the age of 16.

Below are pictures of permission slips returned by the students agreeing to take part in our film.
